Sad Today:(

I'm sad today because my parents are leaving:(  It's been a wonderful visit filled with laughter, food, games and lots of hugs and kisses for all of us.  We will miss you guys very much and thanks so much for a great visit xoxo

New Ideas for my Blog

So, after chatting with Di, I've decided to steal some of her ideas and add some posts about my recipes and some other stuff.  There will still be lots of posts and pics of the kids;)

My Parents are coming for a visit!

It's been a long time since my parents have been out here and they are arriving tomorrow morning!  The kids and I are very excited!  I'm sure we are going to have a great visit and I'm really looking forward to not having to take Kyle with me to go get Katie;)
The weather has been really good lately.  We've been able to go to the park and the kids are really enjoying it:)  I've got some videos from my phone to upload but too tired to do it now so you will just have to wait:)
The kids and I went to Blue Grass Nursery this morning to see Balzac Billy the groundhog and see what his prediction was for winter.  He said 6 more weeks but if it's like the weather we've had recently I am going to be ok with that.
The kids and I went swimming on Monday and Katie is really trying to teach herself to swim and they both LOVE the water.  My little fishes.

It's Been a VERY Cold Week!!

This past week has been super cold! Brrr!!  After dealing with freezing cold temps and 3 out of the 4 of us sick, I asked Chris...why do we still live in Canada??  I'm a proud Canadian but this week really tested my loyalty.  Why can't we buy a warm island already?!?
Poor Katie got sick on tuesday afternoon and we thought it only lasted 12 hrs but later on wednesday she starting her fever again:(  It wasn't until friday morning that she went 12 hrs without a fever.  YAY!  Friday was wacky hair day at her school.  She looked so cute:)
Chris and I have had colds and also headaches all week:(  I asked on FB if anyone else was getting headaches all week, trying to see if it was from the weather and quite a few people are.  Little Kyle was doing so good on staying healthy until midnight friday.  He woke up with a terrible cough and vomited a little bit from it.  He was so upset by his cough, I felt so bad for him.  I took him to the dr on friday morning and he has croup.  We got him some meds and have his humidifier on full blast to try to help him.  He's also got a cold and just sounds and looks so sick:(Last night when we were putting the kids to bed, Chris gave Kyle a kiss good night and Katie came over to give Kyle a hug and a kiss goodnight, when Kyle said "NO! I'm sick!"  HAHA  It was so funny but poor Katie got her feelings hurt.  We told her Kyle loved her so much that he didn't want to get her sick.  He apparently doesn't feel the same about us;p

On a happier note...my parents are coming for a visit!  It's been a long time since they were last out here and the kids are very excited.  My parents will need a vacation after their trip here I'm sure just to recover from my kids!  They are so busy and talk so much!  It's exhausting just listening to them:)  Kyle is saying so much now.  He also has been working hard at not being so shy anymore.  He still takes some time to warm up to certain situations but he really gets out there and plays.  We went on a play date last week and he really enjoyed playing with the older kids. 

Kindergarten registration has begun and we still haven't registered Katie yet but are pretty sure we are putting her in the Francophone school here in Airdrie.  Right now the school is small but they are hoping to have the new and bigger school built in Reunion in 2014.  Fingers crossed since it will be super close to our house.  If we don't send her there we are thinking Magic Mountain and if not there then maybe the Catholic school.  I can't believe my baby girl is going to Kindergarten next year:(  I'm very excited for her but also sad because it means she really is growing up:(  It is all happening way to fast for my liking.

I've been playing with the apps on the iPad and really enjoy the photo apps.  The kids also really love the iPad.  Kyle is OBSESSED with trains!  We thought it was just Thomas but no, it's any kind of train.  He has a few train apps and one of them is just pictures and videos and he will watch that thing all day if I let him!  It's kind of funny but also weird.  HAHA  This morning after we ate breakfast Kyle stole my iPad to play trains and Katie was on the laptop play Disney Princess.  She is really good at the computer and using a mouse.  I'm very impressed. 

Work is going very well for Chris which is nice.  Classes for him will resume in March I believe. 
Looking forward to a couple date nights too since we will have company *wink wink*

We had a great December!  We didn't many pictures of the kids opening their gifts on xmas morning but did do a lot of video.  For some reason though, not all my pics will upload so I will do a second post.  We did the Festival of Lights twice that month.  All of us love it there and are happy that we have something to do with the kids in Airdrie.  On xmas eve we did some crafts and went to see Auntie Di and then went to dinner at BP and after that was the Festival of Lights.  After we were done there we went home and the kids opened their pjs and also got some new mugs.  Kyle got a cars mug and Katie got the Disney Princess.  We watched How the Grinch Stole Christmas and then it was bed for the kiddies.  Christmas morning was awesome!  The kids really enjoyed all that we did.  They were sad to see Benny go though.  Katie has asked about Benny more then a few times but I think she getting over the fact that he is gone until next yr.  Chris surprised me with an iPad!  I think he was pretty proud of himself and he should be since it made me speechless!
I am sooooo looking forward to next Christmas too since my Super Awesome Auntie Cindy is going to come and visit us for about 3 weeks next Christmas!!!  Can't wait to see her:)
Katie had her Mingle Jingle for pre school and it was sooooo cute!!!  She is such a ham and I just love it!  She does remind me of myself so much!!  Hope you like the pictures and hope to get more up soon!
New Years was great this year too.  Dianna and Tyler came over and we had a lot of fun!  Playing cards and then Kinect.  Tyler was a hoot at cards and kept trying to give Dianna a heart attack too!  So many laughs with great company.
